Pakistan Merchant Marine Shipping Policy 2019
After detailed consultations and deliberations with relevant stakeholders, Ministry of Maritime Affairs devised a comprehensive Shipping Policy 2019. The policy aims at incentivizing the private sector to participate in the mercantile shipping business.
Under the policy, Shipping Companies incorporated in Pakistan and registering their vessels with a Pakistan Flag gain major financial concession including income and sales tax exemption till the year 2030. Furthermore, they are also exempt from Custom Duties till 2030. Additionally, Pakistan Flag Carriers will also acquire first berthing rights at Pakistani Ports.
