FEDERAL MINISTER ALONG WITH ADDITIONAL SECRETARY IN MIDDLE OF 03-DAY OFFICIAL VISIT TO GWADAR.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh along with Additional Secretary Maritime Affairs Mr. Umar Zafar Sheikh arrived in Gwadar on a three-day official visit.
Upon his arrival at Gwadar, they were received by officials including the CEO of China Overseas Port Holding Company Limited Mr. Yu Bo, and other dignitaries of China.
The Federal Minister had a very busy first day of his three-day visit to Gwadar, which began with a meeting chaired by the Maritime Minister at the GPA Head Office, where senior Chinese, MoMA, and Gwadar Port Authority officials discussed various issues.

Chairman Gwadar Port Mr. Pasand Khan Bilidi gave a briefing about the ongoing development projects at Gwadar Port, after which a detailed briefing was given by Chairman China Overseas Port Holding Company Limited pertaining to operations and recent developments of the port.
On this occasion, the Federal Minister also visited the Free Zone, which included a visit to the newly constructed desalination plant supplying 1.2 million gallons of water per day. The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs expressed his deep interest in Gwadar and its associated mega projects and said that Gwadar will play a key role in the economic development of not only Balochistan but also Pakistan in the near future, thereby improving the standard of living of the people.
Moreover, the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs directed that immediate practical steps be taken to resolve the complaints faced by the local fishermen related to the trawler mafia so that the poor and local fishermen associated with this profession can be treated appropriately.
