Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi visited NED University of Engineering and Technology, City Campus Karachi to review the Manora Island Urban Planning and Design Studies.

Minister Zaidi was invited by the University's Department of Architecture and Management Science to review the Manora Island Urban Planning and Design Studies undertaken by Final Year Architecture students under supervision of faculty members. The students of the department briefed the Minister on the conceptual plan on Manora, Baba, Badu and Bhatt Islands.

Minister appreciated that student's imaginative plans for the Western Islands are commendable. He said that the youth of our country are shining the name of Pakistan in every field and they have demonstrated their talent everywhere. Furthermore, Minister highlighted the importance of development of islands. He said that development projects on the islands will pave the way for economic development in the country.

Moreover, Minister stressed that the projects on Sindh Islands need to be started for the development of our nation. Also, there is a need to harness the potential of our academia and bringing the local people of Sindh at main front to solve their problems.

Minister thanked the NED University for inviting him and appreciated the students for their hard work and bright ideas.
