International Women’s Day

Islamabad: 8th March, 2022

Ministry of Maritime Affairs pays recognition to the women around the world on this special occasion of International Women’s Day 2022. As the day is celebrated to recognize the achievements of women in social, economic, cultural and political sphere and to raise awareness on gender equality that particularly is the theme for this year’s observance.

Ministry encourages the immense contributions made by the women of Pakistan at both national and international platforms. The women in Pakistan have immense potential for contributing to the advancement and development of the nation. Pakistan fully supports the gender equality and provides ease of access to resources to its people regardless of gender.

Ministry would like to praise the women working for the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and acknowledge the hard work and devotion they put to achieve the objectives of the Ministry. The Ministry is ensuring participation of women to reduce gender gap, as for the first time in history of Pakistan a woman participated in Port Security Force at Karachi Port Trust.

As rightly said by our Founder of the Nation;

“No Nation can ever be worthy of its existence that cannot take its women along with the men. No struggle can ever succeed without women participating side by side with men. There are two powers in the world; one is the sword and the other is the pen. There is a great competition and rivalry between the two. There is a third power stronger than both, that of the women.”
